The garden is full of buds, blossoms and the anticipation of future fruit.
I get unreasonably excited when I find a branch heavily laden with the promise of harvest.
If the anticipation of future reward thrills me in my garden, why am I so impatient with my children?
I love my children dearly, but I often become weary at the immaturity, the silliness, the dirt, and the incessant noise.
Can I see my children as God's work in progress? Can I remember God's patient training in my life?
Fresh berries may be yummy but nothing compares with God's work in the hearts of his children.
